Weather

The free WeatherFlow forecast (link to the right) from the Still Water Lake Estates Tempest weather station is now doing a good job at forecasting, this is a A.I. driven forecast that continuously updates. With the WindAlert app you now need the plus membership for $5.49/mo to get the Still Water Lake Estates station, many other stations are free. The WindAlert  WA-TRRM and WA-HRRR forecast will look similar to the image below but not exactly since the WA-TRRM and WA-HRRR forecasts in the app update every hour rather than just four times a day like the image below. For a wind speed and direction the WindAlert WA-TRRM and WA-HRRR forecasts are still doing better than Tempest.

For temperature forecasts (especially lows) use the forecast links to the right from the National Weather Service (NWS). Cold air settles at night so lows will often be lower than the WeatherFlow/WindAlert forecast, the Tempest weather station is located on top of the tunnel plus another 9' feet or so above the ground. On clear calm nights lows down on the lower areas of the community will be about 3-5 degrees colder than the low reported by the weather station.

For the south lake water temperature register for a free account at https://www.zynect.com/home/account/?ec_page=register (no need to enter any billing info) then download their app or use their web portal to sign in and add the water temperature sensor with share code RWXQGQ. For the north lake water temperature download the Smart Life app (Apple - Android) then text Scot at (801) 368-2981 for an activation link. For the north lake cam reach out to Kelly Chipman for the password.

Scot Chipman is still looking for a homeowner (including kids) that would be interested in reporting daily precipitation measurements at Still Water Lake Estates. The observations would only need to be reported when there is new rain/snow, easy to report on-line at https://www.cocorahs.org or you could also text Scot. The observation would be part of the CoCoRaHS network which gets picked up by the National Weather Service.
